withdraw T1 Application

Post by worriedman123 » Mon Mar 14, 2011 3:51 pm

Hi,

I called to withdraw my T1 application today and they put the request on the system and I was given a telephone number of an immigration office looking at my case as its been 6 weeks now I haven't got a decision (applied in person).

However, they told me that I need to give them in writing (mail or fax a letter) to request withdrawal of my application.

Before I could do that, for some reason I changed my mind and dont want to withdraw the application. I am now worried if my application is withdrawn or still in process. As they put some info on their system but I havent given them the request in writing.

I called as well to confirm and was told it wouldnt be withdrawn unless I give it in writing, but I am not too satisfied.

Does anyone know if they 100% need it in writing before they withdraw my application in which case im safe.

Please comment!

Thanks

Unless a request for withdrawal is made and received by UKBA in writing (post / fax / email) from the applicant, there is no request for withdrawal.

You cannot request for withdrawal on the phone.

I actually called today to withdraw my application (I just submitted it last week and it hadn't yet been considered) and was not told anything about making a request in writing. Does anyone actually have experience with this? I don't see anywhere in the rules that a request has to be in writing... I will probably call tomorrow to make sure that it's gone through but it would be helpful not to have to make multiple phone calls for this.

Thanks! I'd been looking at the Tier 1 policy guidance but that is helpful.
