Withdrawing Sponsorship

Post by AzimScot » Sun Apr 10, 2011 12:33 pm

Hi,

What is the process for withdrawing sponsoring for someone on a spouse visa and what do you need to send them?

Thanks.

Has anyone been through this process and been successful? Do the home office notify you that sponsorship has been withdrawn can you call up or write in to check? How many weeks/months does it take?

If your attempt is declined how long can they wait for an appeal? Is it one appeal only?

Thanks.

If someone notifies UKBA that the relationship has broken down then they have no right to know about their estranged partner's case whatsoever. If you read the link UKBA contact the British/settled spouse for permission to use the information.

If the person has more than six months leave left UKBA may curtail, if less they may not unless the person is an abuser. Appeals take as long as they take.

I'm confused. According to this post your wife already has ILR.

Once she has ILR then you are no longer her 'sponsor' and if your marriage breaks down then she still has the right to remain here. There is no need for you to inform the home office of anything.
