Work permit- change of status ?

Hi!
Mi name is Florencia, I´m from Argentina and my husband has been given a 4 year scholarship for a PHd at UBC (Vancouver), we´re moving in august...
He has a student Visa, and I got a temporary visitor Visa, which i´ll have to change once I arrive there, to get a work permit.
Exactly what documents should I take for this, where should I present the application (is the office in Vanocuver?), what are the total costs and how long will it take?
I would really apreciate your help...
