UK - work permit for non-EU student visa holder

Hi,

I want to apply for a work permit and found an employer who is willing to give me work permit.

But my lawyer told me as I am on student visa at the moment, thus to apply for work permit I need to go back to my home country. However, I heard from many people including other lawyers that its not necessary for me to go back to apply for work permit.

Can anyone help me in this regard?

you dont need t go back for just getting a Work Permit. I am not sure for your Entry Clearance though.

you can stay and apply for jobs here, as longas your student visa still valid
