Work permit holder applying residency under EEA2

Post by Jagger » Wed Jun 09, 2010 6:15 pm

Hi Folks,

Have searched the internet but was unable to find any posts / comments on whether a UK Work Permit holder can apply for RC as an EEA2 applicant.

My wife is Italian, and we're married since 2004, both living in the UK since 2006. Before my original EEA Family Permit (Entry Clearance) expired in 2007 (It was valid for 1 year) I was offered a job with a Bank in London, and since then I'm on their Work Permit residing in UK on the basis of new Entry Clearance stamped on my Passport which is valid till mid 2012.

I have applied for RC under EEA2 (on May 15th 2010) as it gives me the freedom to start my own consultancy business or change jobs with ease... and so would like to know if my application is valid (or void)... what happens to my existing Entry Clearance on the passport? Will that be cancelled if my EEA2 application is accepted? These are a few concerns I have.

Any help appreciated. Thanks
