Work Permit Holders - can dependent parents join me in UK?

Post by pknkmr » Thu Dec 16, 2004 3:48 pm

hi,
This is regarding the following statement from UK VISAs:
As a concession outside the Immigration Rules, entry clearance officers have the discretion to issue entry clearance to children over the age of 18 or dependent parents of work permit holders who are intra company transferees, provided that:

* the work permit holder is an intra company transferee who has been posted to the United Kingdom by his employer;
* and that the applicant:
- is genuinely dependent upon the work permit holder;
- and is, and intends to remain, part of the family unit;
- and will not seek to remain in the United Kingdom beyond any period of leave granted to the work permit holder.

* The Work Permits UK Allegations Team investigate allegations of potential work permit abuse and carry out post-issue checking.

MY QUESTIONS:
* the work permit holder is an intra company transferee who has been posted to the United Kingdom by his employer;
I happen to know I am an Intra Company Transferee by asking my Employer, But is there a way to know this by looking at the Work Permit Number or looking at the Visa Stamp in my Passport?
* and that the applicant:
- is genuinely dependent upon the work permit holder;
- and is, and intends to remain, part of the family unit;
What are the acceptable documents that prove the above to Home Office? The statement does not say they have to be financially dependant... So should I just mention that my parent donot have anybody to look after as all their children are abroad? Should I show proof of the relationship? My Indian passport copy has only Father's name, I am thinking what would prove the relationship in case of my Mother?
* The Work Permits UK Allegations Team investigate allegations of potential work permit abuse and carry out post-issue checking.
What exactly is this investigation? Does this mean more difficulty & long delay as far as my parents getting Visa at British Embassy in India is concerned?

Experts please advice..Anybody who has gotten Visa in this manner, please comment.

Thanks.
Kumar
