Where are you from? How long have you been resident in Ireland?
Is the father an Irish citizen?
Have a read:
Entitlement to Irish citizenship of persons born to certain non - nationals.
A person born in the island of Ireland, since 1 January 2005, shall not be entitled to be an Irish citizen unless a parent of that person has, during the four years immediately preceding the person’s birth, been resident in the island of Ireland for a period of not less than three years or period the aggregate of which is not less than three years.
I don't think you'll be entitled to any form of residency stamp based on being the parent of an Irish Child. Not any longer. The IBC scheme which made this possible for children who were born prior to Jan 2005 has ended.stmani wrote:Thanks strongbow, any chance of getting stamp4 residency for myself after having baby's irish passport. I know people had residency on the basis of being parents of irish citizen. Thanks for your assistance.

Hi ciaramic,
You might want to re-read stmani's original post against what you quoted above. It is self explanatory.
The child will be entitled to Irish citizenship if either of the parents (must be named on the child's birth certificate) have GNIB stamps in their passport totalling up to 3 years within the last 4 years. This is the case regardless of the citizenship of the parents. The exemptions to this are residency for the purpose of studying and perod of time while refuge application was under consideration.
