Working in the US

Post by speedyink » Sat Jul 19, 2008 9:04 pm

I'm a canadian looking to work in the US. I already have a place to live, and pretty much everything is good to go, except I need to be able to legally work so I can support myself. I've looked all through the green cards, h2b and TN and whatever VISA's, but all of them seem to exclude me in being elligible for any of them(or the process is insanely difficult). I have relatives (uncle) which are american citizens, but none are direct family (parent/sibling), which is apparantly needed for the green card. Anyway, I just need to be able to legally work. I'm definately hoping for the most simple route that doesn't require vast amounts of time to do.

Thanks in advance for any help, it is definately greatly appreciated.

You've done things the wrong way around. You should have looked for a visa first, then found a place to stay.

Why does it matter? I'm moving in with a friend, it's not like I have to be in by a certain time. I just want to get this done as fast as possible.
