I dont know what if the HSMP failed...
But remember you must apply for FLR IED before your Visa Expires
Even if HSMP result is delayed, you can still apply for FLR IED before it expires based on that HSMP application (giving its reference number in form).
Once when you filed FLR IED, You should apply for Urgent treatment of HSMP Based on that
Once when HSMP is approved, you can send that later. No problem in that. One of my collegue has done like that
But if your HSMP gets rejected, this also will get rejected and money is not refundable in both
But dont ever think that you can apply for FLR IED after you get HSMP approval letter even after the expiry date of current leave.. Never take that risk (Ofcourse you can again apply for HSMP from your home country , but your seniority in this country will be lost)
I know one friend who was sent back to his country who applied for Permenant Residency 2 weeks after expiry date of Visa.. So Never take that risk
and I actually dont know what if hsmp got rejected.. That you have to plan and you cant work in UK in full time with student Visa and also that needs you to first get some adimission in some university
I think you can try for Working Holiday Maker Visa in that case. Consult with a imigration Consultant
