Wrong selection for Visa Duration

Hi Everyone

When applying for a visitor visa I completely missed out the option for short term 6 month visit visa. Instead i selected the long term option and paid USD 510. I made the payment on 7th April 2014 and handed in my application and Biometric on 29th April 2014

I still have not received my visa or status. The only update i received stated that my application had been forwarded to the Visa centre.

I wrote an email to "Payment section" explaining my situation requesting for a refund in the difference and amending the duration as well

Has this happened to anyone before? Is it possible to be refunded the difference only?

If it's a first visit visa application and long term one is highly unlikely to be granted.

My intention was to not select a long term visa. I sent them an email informing that i selected it without knowing of a short term option.

Do you think they will refund the difference between the application fee of short term (USD 141) and long term (USD 510) if i request them to? this would also include requesting the duration of the visa

I really doubt it. But you might get lucky.

Did you not wonder when the payment page came up and was saying the higher fee?

When i was filling in the application form online I completely missed out the short term option.

Before confirming the payment it didn't occur to me that this was the case
