Wrong SOC code submitted online

Hi guys,

First of all, thank you all for this great forum - I have learned so much by reading it through!

Perhaps you can help me figure out what to do in my case.

I've put a wrong SOC code in my online application. Our HR couldn't help me with the code so I had to figure it out by myself. Then after submitting the application I've discovered it in my CoS, and it was different from what I submitted, also with a higher salary threshold. Just to clarify, my salary exceeds both of these codes' thresholds.

I will ask our HR to update the employer's letter with the new code and upload it, and perhaps write a note to my application explaining the situation.

Would that be enough? Should I also print out the application and change the code there by crossing out the incorrect one? How bad is this situation in general (should I panic)?

You can definitely make changes with explanation before a decision is made on your application

Thank you! I'll upload the explanation note with the fixed application.

An update on this: I did as recommended and submitted an explanation note along with the corrected application. Just got my ILR approved without any additional requests. Thanks again for the help!
