10 year visit/family visa for parents

Post by n_sharma50 » Sun Jun 07, 2015 3:59 pm

Hi,

I am a naturalized british citizen. My parents are retired and they visited me once in 2011. I applied for a 6 month visa back then.

I would like to apply 10 year visit visa now. Please if seniors/mods can help with following queries.

1) I left permanent employment and started my own company in Jan 2015. I now take a small basic salary and rest as dividend for tax efficiency. Previously I just showed my last 6 payslips but now I am not sure how best to show that I have enough funds as my salary slip shows a small amount. How has other people in similar situation showed evidence that they have enough funds to sponsor the visit.

2) My parents are retired and they get a very small state pension plus they have a but of saving in their account. Should I ask them to show their bank statement in visa application? They live with my younger brother. They do have property in their name to show ties to India and also have LIC policy etc.

3) Apart from invitation and sponsorship letter, what other document I should send to ensure entry clearance officer has no issues in providing 10 year visa.

Thanks in advance. Look forward for help and guidance on this one.

N

If they have only visited the UK once before, it is highly unlikely that they will be successful in getting a 10 year visitor visa as there is no travel history etc and most people who do manage to get a 10 year visit visa have visited the UK many times on 6 month visit visas and then two year visas, etc.

For any visit visa, they would need to provide substantial documentary evidence to prove the circumstances, including financial, in their home country.
