7 years in Uk as a student and have a son 5 months old here

Hi,Im looking for someone who had a simular experience as us .We have lived in UK for 7 years.My husband is a student and Im on dependent visa,but can work full-time.Our son was born in september 2006.I know that you can apply for ILR after 10 lowfull years.But someone told me that is 7 years for my son and he can apply for ILR.Please,share your experience if you know anything about children rights in UK ,whose parents are not British.

The 'seven year concession' applies to families with a dependant child (under 18 ) or children living with them who have been living in the UK 'continuously' for 7 or more years. In such cases IND accepts that 'enforced deportation or removal will not normally be appropriate' as the ties established by children over this period will 'outweigh other considerations and it is right and fair that the family should be allowed to stay here'.

So it's another 6.5 years for your child.

Hanna, you do not actually say where your child was born .... and I am not going to assume the answer to that question.

So can you confirm that your child was born in the UK?
