7 years Student, 1 year SEGS, 2 years WorkPermit = ILR ???

Post by royroy » Tue Dec 05, 2006 12:15 am

Dear forum members,

I'm new to this forum and I have a question which i really like to find out the answer:

The question is about ILR (Indefintely leave to remain) / Permanent Residency (PR) -
I spent the first 7 years on a Student Visa, and 1 year on a SEGS (Science& Engineering Graduates Scheme - for relevant graduate to look for jobs after graduation in the uK), and few months ago, i have found a job and now working under the work permit visa, my question is, after 2 more years (altogether 10 years), can i really apply for the ILR?

Any information/advice/help would be greatly appreciated : )
i'm quite desperate to find out the answer as my job is getting me nowhere at the moment, and i cannot afford to waste 2 more years working there, unless i know i can apply for the ILR after 2 years, then i can change job once my ILR application is approved.

Looking forward to all your replies.

Have a lovely day !!

Hi Roy

Yes you can apply for ILR after ten years legal stay in the UK. There are loads of threads on this site discussing it
