Yellow certificate and Comprehensive Sickness Insurance

Post by bogomil » Thu Sep 08, 2011 4:20 pm

Hello. I am an international student from Bulgaria and I am going to start my full-time course this autumn. As you know, in order to work in the UK, romanian and bulgarian students must have a Yellow card which is been given by the Border Agency. The thing is, they have introduced a new requirement - having a Comprehensive Sickness Insurance. I think such term isn't defined by most of the insurance companies and a the people on the forums don't know exactly how 'comprehensive' must a policy be so my first question is how much does such insurance cost in your opinion? What wil be enough to pass?

I was also told that if you try to cancel your insurance policy after you get the Yellow certificate you will be rejected when you apply for a Blue certificate in the future. So my other question is if this is true.

Any help will be appreciated :)

I guess so, if you are required to have CSI to be a qualified person or to be eligible for the "blue card".
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
