Incidentally, I also called yesterday and got the answer: in process. Simple application. No complication at all.

Do they ask for reference? Do they go to referee?

I believe that they can go to your referee and ask them how they know us, why do you ask?

As I am late in getting approval, several questions come to mind. If they go for reference this might take extra time.

Yes I've been asking myself a lot of questions also. If it helps, I have gone to both of my referees and none have received a call from the UKBA.

Only potential complication I can see is that the start of the residency period was under a student visa (rather than a spouse visa). Otherwise days in/out of the UK and other requirements should have been met.

FINALLY, got approval yesterday. The letter was dated 2nd April - I can only assume Royal Mail take some sadistic pleasure in delivering these letters particularly slowly...

Just a quick question: Did HO contact Referee?

Hi Somudro,

HO did not contact any of my referee but my friend told me that during his process HO sent an inquiry to both of his referees. So it seems random, all depends on the case worker.

Was your friend a January applicant? What did they ask your friends referees?

He applied in Sept 2013 and got his approval within 4 weeks. HO asked his referees about their status, relation to applicant, business/job.

Just a quick question: Did HO contact Referee?

Thank you. Application was actually for the ol ball and chain. No, nobody called the referees.

In fact to answer some other questions I've also seen, we haven't been in the country the entire time the application has been under consideration. I've been sent on an international assignment and the wife has been with me the whole time so that clearly doesn't effect anything for those wondering.

The only pain has been trying to get others to check the post on a daily basis especially since people on here have been getting positive replies!

We will be back for the ceremony in 2 weeks

Who is still waiting?

Almost 70% of Feb applicants got approval so I will be very surprised if a Jan applicant is still waiting..I am sure they all got approvals..

i paid £94.00 fee i cudve used that money to buy a a new jacket..i really need a new jacket

Don't worry guys! to be honest I don't think they even know any status of your application...they just say random things like case has been assigned to a worker or a caseworker is still looking into it or checks are being made etc...they have quite a few sentences which they use in round robin fashion IMHO so it is entirely possible you get two different updates if you call after one hour

I have read several people writing in this forum that they called and got a response that no caseworker has been assigned to the application only to find approval letter next day..I will leave at you to work that out!

My advise..relax, watch movies, do your normal job...it will arrive one day.

I spoke to an immigration solicitor last week..she told me that I dont even need that certificate anymore because I already have a passport.

pshhhht...i dont knoww hat got over me by sending this request. The HO advised me to send a letter advising them I want to withdraw my request. I sent them a letter yesterday. hopefully will get everything back soon.

I am also waiting for the approval letter. Hard time.........
I called HO - 2/3 days ago. HO said " On going". No other further information I got.

Yes I am still waiting.
Although I got email asking about a survey after decision, but haven't got any letter. God knows why they have taken so long.

Did you call HO?

Not yet. I did check with my referees, and non had any calls.
But whats strange is how come they sent me email 2 days ago stating "Having recently received a decision on your application, UK visas and Immigration would like to ask for your feedback...". I am hoping royal mail are being unusually slow. In either case, I ll contact them next week as now its long bank holiday.
