Received my approval letter on 14th march dated 9th march . Exactly 2months.
Yet to call council though.
Pls anyone knows if NCS Edinburgh conduct ceremony on a Saturday . Can't afford to ask for half a day hol so soon. Just coming back from 1week sick off.
All d best to those still waiting.
Application is only for me, tried to call yesterday and they just said it's in process. I really don't know why it's taking so long, they said a caseworker has not looked at it yet.Somudro wrote:@phospholipid, did you apply only for you? or a join application with family?

I believe that they can go to your referee and ask them how they know us, why do you ask?Somudro wrote:phospholipid wrote:Application is only for me, tried to call yesterday and they just said it's in process. Incidentally, I also called yesterday and got the answer: in process. Simple application. No complication at all.
Do they ask for reference? Do they go to referee?
Yes I've been asking myself a lot of questions also. If it helps, I have gone to both of my referees and none have received a call from the UKBA.Somudro wrote:As I am late in getting approval, several questions come to mind. If they go for reference this might take extra time.
FINALLY, got approval yesterday. The letter was dated 2nd April - I can only assume Royal Mail take some sadistic pleasure in delivering these letters particularly slowly...sabster wrote:Unfortunately still waiting.
Had applied on 28th Jan through NCS Barnet but have not received ok.
Only potential complication I can see is that the start of the residency period was under a student visa (rather than a spouse visa). Otherwise days in/out of the UK and other requirements should have been met.
You can see my earlier post requesting advice on whether I can apply under the student visa.
Hope I get a positive outcome!

4 weeks! Impressive.jmehmud wrote:He applied in Sept 2013 and got his approval within 4 weeks. HO asked his referees about their status, relation to applicant, business/job.
Thank you. Application was actually for the ol ball and chain. No, nobody called the referees.Somudro wrote:Congratulation man!.sabster wrote:FINALLY, got approval yesterday. Just a quick question: Did HO contact Referee?
