January 2014 - Naturalization Application Timeline

Hi milan69! considering last few cases, I have noticed HO took 18 days to process these applications. Do you think we should expect our result in 3rd or 4th week of Feb. Will it be a realistic thought or like you said yesterday we should wait till mid of March?

Well, from tomorrow last week of February starts but I would be very surprised if get our approvals (but very happy as well). Nevertheless, HO have stepped up and December approvals are poring in and if they continue with this tempo we might get ours sooner than we think. I still think it is realistic to expect late January applications to be resolved around 10-15 of March.

January 2014 Applications Update
Since the last update on 19 February:

• Applicants: 92
  Fee Debits: 89 (~ 97%) (pending: s4sam, MY, KyleDM)
  Approvals: 14 (~ 15%) (congratulations on newest approvals for Bruno30, NOG, DevB, kiranchinnu, safa_bb, SameerBhagawatUk, uknotts, baji15, keepsim, silverdiablo7, sgaba)
  
  Average waiting time between Fee Debit and Approval Letter Date (FD2ALD): ~ 17 weekdays** (December's FD2ALD is a little over 17 weekdays)
  Average waiting time between Fee Debit and Approval Letter Receipt (FD2ALR): ~ 21 weekdays** (December's FD2ALR is approximately 23 weekdays)
  ** This metric is entirely down to individual circumstances, such as complexity of application and 2nd class post receipt time, to name but two.

The following applicant timelines have been excluded since date of receipt of one's application by the UKBA is the effective application date:

• dadageer - a February 2014 applicant
  skyturk - another February 2014 applicant
  syedfarhatraza - not enough data, but guessing this should be a December 2013 application

Below is a representation of January 2014 data (admittedly not as nice as p2kin's Tuesday graphs in the October 2013 and November 2013 timeline topics), but I think this gives a general idea of progress thus far. I have not represented fee acknowledgement percentages since this metric would have been most useful for the October and November backlogs - this is a little redundant due to the 97% fee debit figure for January.

To all January 2014 applicants - please try and keep your timelines updated and accurate as it benefits the topic and others when you do so. Relevant update posts (like this one) in my signature to make them easy to track.

I have just the HO and they said my application is on the system! They havent sent any communication later and they might not do so... Finger crosses, I will get this Brown envelope soon!!

Called HO today. The gentleman on the phone has advised me that the application is still pending. Also, he reminded me that the application can take up to 6 months so I should keep waiting.

Sure! asked the HO why I havent received my acknowledgment letter? Normally, they sent straight away after they deducted the money.
He said... "So far, they havent sent you any correspondence letter (acknowledgment or approval letter). But your application is on the system waiting to be processed! Sometimes we don't send the acknowledgment letter...

I dont think its nothing to worry about it! I am glad I rang them and my application is on the system. It's more important than a confirmation letter. Do you think?

Just called HO ... was advised 'the application is not complete'. no idea what that means. Can someone pls advise.
I guess it's still 2 weeks away at least.
I am an early Jan applicant.

That is the standard reply...yesterday they told me my application is being "processed". I found out that each time I call I speak to a different operator with a different reply.

Agents don't always give you up to date information, checking the dec timeline: someone called them on monday and they said in process. The same person received an approval letter on Tuesday which was dated 5 days ago. So just hope for the best your letter might already be on Royal Mail lorry travelling down on the M1 to your address...
