Finding difficult to find J2EE work

Post by mmhtn » Tue Mar 22, 2005 2:05 pm

Hi

I'm finding it quite difficult to find J2EE positions with Weblogic. Its been now over a month. I've applied to jobserve, cwjobs, jobsite. I receive calls from agents but no interviews setup. Any tips advice.

1) Are you on HSMP?
2) How many years of experience do you have in J2EE field?

Hi,

I am on HSMP visa and got 4.5 years of experience with J2EE.

I guess I dont have any specialty skill like Webmethods, Documentum etc. and maybe that's why I am going nowhere.

Any sensible employer will not fall for a certification. Try contacting Indian consultancies. They pay less but they will find you a contract.

I did know a few but cannot remember the names right now. Three of my friends found contracts thought them but that was before HSMP and the companies even applied for their work permits.

All,

I've nearly 5 yrs experience in J2ee and EAI (Integration area - Seebeyond, siebel, webmethods).

I have 2 yrs BT (british telecom) UK, experience. I worked in Ipswich.

Can anyone tell me how difficult/easy to get a job in UK with my kind of experience.

Also, any tips in terms of CV, way of applying, etc., are welcome.

Thanks in advance,
Raj

You'll be quite in demand with telecoms. BT experience is quite valuable with a number of companies. If you also have some experience with Geneva, try Servista as a starting point. However they were offshoring stuff last I knew but no harm in inquiring

Raj,

You have to knock MBT door. Definitely you will be inside BT, as they are desperate in getting these skills from local market

Also, worth looking in convergsys

Hope this helps
