FLR(M) checklist & questions

Post by thlarkin » Thu Feb 09, 2017 11:15 am

Hi everyone,

Sorry if my question has been answered somewhere on this forum but I still need your advice on my specific case.
My background: I'm a Vietnamese, married to my English husband in January 2017 in the UK. I'm on a fiance visa at the moment and I will be applying for FLR(M) visa next week. We have adequate finance in category A, accommodation, and been in the relationship for over 2 years now. Here is my application checklist, please let me know if I miss anything:

- FLR(M) form: printed & filled by hand (I'm confused with apply online or apply by post, would you still have to print & post?)
- NSH Payment receipt
- Visa fee receipt email
- Sponsor letter
- Applicant letter
- Sponsor & Applicant passport photos (2 of me & 1 of him)
- Applicant birth certificate
- Applicant passport
- Applicant MA degrees (taught in the UK universities)
- Sponsor passport copy (all pages)
- Sponsor's old passports (original)
- Sponsor's parents letter of support

Financial Evidence:
- Sponsor's employer letter (original)
- Sponsor's payslips (6 originals)
- Sponsor's P60 (original)
- Sponsor's bank statements (6 originals)

Accommodation:
- Mortgage statement
- Land registry
- Property Inspection Report
- Council Tax bill (on Sponsor's name)
- Gas & Electric bills (on both our names)
- Bank letter under my name
- Layout of house/ living space

Relationship Evidence
- Photos of applicant & sponsor (6 pages)
- Emails between applicant & sponsor
- WhatsApp & FaceTime
- Sponsor's & Applicant's phone statement before marriage
- Flight receipts
- Sponsor's visa to Vietnam
- Holiday receipts

Marriage Evidence
- Marriage certificate (original)
- Wedding photos
- Receipts of restaurants, ceremony...
- Car, wedding ring, dress, honeymoon, flight receipt & boarding pass

Please let me know if I miss anything. I don't show any finance of my own even though I have some money in my UK Bank account but because my husband's finance is more than enough so I"m not going to submit mine. Is that ok?
We are still thinking if we should submit by post or by premium 1 day service. Considering my fiance visa expires in May 2017, but I have been refused twice in my previous visa applications in the past (in different visa types), I was thinking to give them some time to work on my case carefully, rather than rushing to apply. What's your recommendation?

Many thanks in advance for your answers and for reading my questions.

- FLR(M) form: printed & filled by hand (I'm confused with apply online or apply by post, would you still have to print & post?) If applying online, you still have to print and post I believe. You can also apply in person (costs £500 extra) for a same day decision.
- NSH Payment receipt
- Visa fee receipt email
- Sponsor letter
- Applicant letter Not needed. What is this explaining or about?
- Sponsor & Applicant passport photos (2 of me & 1 of him)
- Applicant birth certificate Not required
- Applicant passport
- Applicant MA degrees (taught in the UK universities)
- Sponsor passport copy (all pages)
- Sponsor's old passports (original) Not required
- Sponsor's parents letter of support Not required.

Financial Evidence:
- Sponsor's employer letter (original)
- Sponsor's payslips (6 originals)
- Sponsor's P60 (original)
- Sponsor's bank statements (6 originals) Make sure the most recent bank statement and payslip is not older than 28 days.

Accommodation:
- Mortgage statement
- Land registry
- Property Inspection Report Do you share the property with other people? If not and only you/sponsor living there, this is not required.
- Council Tax bill (on Sponsor's name)
- Gas & Electric bills (on both our names)
- Bank letter under my name
- Layout of house/ living space Not required.

Relationship Evidence
- Photos of applicant & sponsor (6 pages)
- Emails between applicant & sponsor
- WhatsApp & FaceTime
- Sponsor's & Applicant's phone statement before marriage
- Flight receipts
- Sponsor's visa to Vietnam
- Holiday receipts

Marriage Evidence
- Marriage certificate (original)
- Wedding photos
- Receipts of restaurants, ceremony... Dont think this is required or the one below.
- Car, wedding ring, dress, honeymoon, flight receipt & boarding pass

Thank you @CR001.
My letter is just to explain the reason for applying for this spousal visa and my future plan. I saw somebody did it.
We do not share our property with anyone, only us living in the flat.
If we apply in person? Would it be more risky to get quick decision?

If we apply in person? Would it be more risky to get quick decision? Why risky? They still check all your documents in the same way as if you apply by post. You get a decision on the day and you don't have weeks or months without your original documents. Your spouse should attend with you in you apply in person.
