Occasionally border official ask about you EEA family, and on some occasion they will contact them to see if they are in the UK and exercising treaty rights .

It they do, it is advisable to be honest with them , and tell then the correct circumstance of your case

A foreign marriage can be divorced in uk and you can get decree absolute from uk without traveling and jeopardize yourself.

Mate don't go Africa if it is not high emergency because for ror eu national treaty rights, decree absolute, etc need which you you may have from uk and if your passport expiring then renew from here. I don't think anything from back home can help for ror.

You do know that you are no longer a EEA family member, right??? i would not play with fire. get the important staff to be sent to you by courier by someone base in your country. However if you are 100% sure that you meet the requirement to secure ROR just travel with all the document proving that just in case the officer decide to look deeply into your case. Anyway if they stop you at the border you may still ask for an Appeal and once in country present your case
GOD BLESS!!!

No problem at all as being separate is not divorce. they will probably ask you where is your wife and if she is working, just reply to the question asked, do not go into details they never asked
