Tier 4 application help for PhD

Post by MSKF » Mon Jun 27, 2016 5:45 pm

Hi,

I got an offer for a PhD and applied for an ATAS certificate. I also booked appointment for a TB test to be done. What other things do I need to show? I have listed down the following things:

- 1 year tuition
- £9135 maintenance funds
- NHS surcharge?

I'm a bit unsure about the NHS surcharge. Do I keep that in my account for over 28 days? I don't know how to go about paying for that or anything. Also, what would be better? Showing the funds in my account or my parent's account? Does it make any difference? Can I show fixed deposit sums?

You cannot show fixed deposits. Funds must be liquid.

IHS has to be paid before you can submit your application as you need the IHS reference for your application form.

Thx for the info. So I guess I should go pay the IHS off ASAP.

I followed this link: https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigrati ... cation/pay

And this is what they said:
You need to pay by cash at an embassy or visa application centre if you’re in Bangladesh, Myanmar or the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. You can pay in cash or use the online service if you’re in Nepal.
So I guess I have to pay that money along with the application fee at the visa center here in Dhaka.
