I am currently on work permit for almost last 3 yrs. Now if i move to dependent visa for say 2-3 months and the go for Tier 1 visa how will it impact my Permanant Residency? Will my previos 3 yrs still be counted or i have to start all over again

I am here on workpermit since 2005. I got my visa stammped around one month after receiving the work permit.
The work permit says the valid until 31 Aug and the visa stamped on my passport say valid until 29 Sep. I am not sure what is the correct date
Can somebody help me with this
