Tier 1 general to ILR.. Called for interview.

Post by Dwarapudi » Thu Sep 10, 2015 8:08 pm

Hi everyone.
Applied for ILR from tier 1 general in March at PEO Croydon, asked for some more time to make decision and finally after 5months I got a letter to attend for an interview on 16sep at lunar house, 3rd floor, Croydon.
I submitted half employed and half self employed as my income. I don't have an idea why they holded for 5months and what they are going to ask me. Did anyone face similar situation. Can anyone help me on this plz.

Did they give you any reason why they are holding the decision ?
I mean did they ask to submit any additional documents?

Are all your tax affairs in order?

Any discrepancies in income declared in any of your extensions versus what you declared to HMRC for tax liability?

Hi Thks for the reply. They haven't asked me for any documents. With the tax history I paid bit less than usual for my extension. With my first tier 1 application in 2010 I am employed with 4 different companies. I showed 20k but because of 4different companies I paid less tax than usual.
I got to pay 3k but paid only 1k because all the 4companies didn't charge me tax till I earn above 7k.
In the forums I have seen many people going for an interview to vfs in london but none to Croydon. Is there anyone who is been to Croydon on similar issue.
Is it better for me to pay remaining tax of my
First years before I go for interview.
Totally confused what to do for the interview.
Can someone help me on this. Thank you.

This is not right. If you had 4 employers irrespective of when your tax code should adjust for it. For example you'd get your normal tax code for employer1, and a BR tax code for the others.

Hi Dawarapudi,

hope you have enough of ideas for tomorrow interview.
but what i would suggest after looking into your matter,,, that just because of a 5 months delay unintentionally (from HO) they are calling you for an interview to process your case. However if you show up your requirements of 35K or 40K and what/how earnings have you provided than that would be helpful to answer you. and an idea of your 5 years tax history.
