How to prove I was in the country 5yrs before application?

Hi All,

I'm slightly confused. UKBA doesn't put exit stamps during travel out of the country. Then how would I prove that I was really "in country" exactly five years before BC application? Do I have to get any document from anywhere as passport itself won't tell when I was out, it will only tell when I came in?

Thanks for your help!

The passport itself is enough. You are not required to provide any additional evidence to prove presence.

The HO can verify your whereabouts by other means if they wish.

I was told by an UKBA staff, that a letter from your GP can help to prove that you were in the country, that is if you are registered or attended any GP appointments, although I did not need this, I did get one from my GP just in case. Hope this helps your case.

I had a problem where I could not prove I entered the country, as I landed in Dublin, and drove up to NI. I provided them with my entry stanp in Ireland, and submitted any and all paperwork I had to prove my time here, even a Creditexpert check - as this proved my entry onto the electoral register, opening bank accounts etc. My thinking was rather give them info and they not need it, than need info and not give it
