British citizenship and seperation (spouse route)

This is my story I first came to the Uk on a five years visitors visa in 2006 but only spent three months then came back on a student visa in September 2008. I married a British Citizen in november 2009 and was granded FLR march 2010. During the relationship I was the victim of domestic violence that cuased the marriage to permanently broken down and was granded ILR january 2012. Im currently legally married to the person however we are seprated soo my question is can i apply for Naturalisation under the 3 year spouse route? if soo when can i apply? or 5 year route? if soo again when can i apply?
Based on my understanding from the UKBA website the marriage doesnt have to be subsistence for British citizenship unlike when you had to prove it when applying for FLR and ILR. For BC spouse route one of the main thing from my understanding is proving your married to a british citizen wether seperated or not providing you satisfy the residential requirements and other fators... From my research also, If the other party isnt willing to provide the supporting documents such as their birth and marriage certificate these can easily get from your local register office with a small fee providing you know basic details of your seperated parnter( you are married to them soo you should know!).
