Hi all i need some help. I wanna apply for citizenship in feb 2014 . I passed my life in the uk test in 2012 and now apparently i need some b1 cefr certificate. How do i get it?? Do i need to go to the college? I have pr card but i dont think it matters in this case. Amyone knows how long is this course and how much is it??? Thanks for replies

You don't need to go to college. You need to prove you have B1 level of English, if you do not have a bachelor degree or above taught in English equivalent to uk degree.

You just need to sit for English exam like IELTS or any other approved one such as http://englishexamcentres.co.uk/b1-esol ... vel-3.html

hi everyone, i have to apply for my naturalization next month and since the change of rules require me to show evidence of koll, i have two queries:

I have done my ACCA from UK, should i still contact NARIC to prove that i have a degree equivalent to uk bachelor's? If not which document should i send to home office as evidence of english language requirement?

If i do contact NARIC, should i get certificate of comparibility or english language assessment or both?

UK naric is only relevant for degrees from outside UK.

I am pretty sure ACCA is not a degree. So it cannot be used.

Hi, Reading from below link, from 28/Oct/2013, language qualifications required BUT if you have appropriate UK degree OR if your qualification is acceptable as per UK NARIC, you will not need to pass any additional language exam. Can someone please confirm this? I have degree from Delhi University and I understand that it is accepted by UK NARIC. Do I need to apply for a specific evaluation from NARIC or a blanket recognition is given to University? Many thanks!

The following qualifications will be accepted for settlement and naturalisation purposes

Degrees taught in English
Those who have obtained a degree taught in English will not be required to show a formal speaking and listening qualification. Those with an academic qualification (not a professional or vocational qualification) who provide appropriate evidence that the qualification was taught or researched in English are considered automatically to meet the English language component of the KoLL requirement and will not be required to show a formal speaking and listening qualification. The qualification must be deemed by UK NARIC to meet the recognised standard of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or PhD in the UK. However, they will still be required to pass the Life in the UK test to demonstrate their knowledge of life in the UK

Dont think you need to take any test, you just neeed tick yes for the following on your application,

(ii) the qualification was taught or researched in the UK

Plus submit your degree certificate as an evidence to support that.
