Do we need to get new forign passport

Hi,
Me & family applied for naturalization in Oct 2013 and waiting for approval.
My wife changed her surname by using deed poll before application and sent the deedpoll with application.
She has her Pakistani passport with her old name. According to our county law, if we have British passport we only need the ID card and don't need to get Pakistani passport (optional).
But in order to apply for British passport we need to submit our current foreign passport. Now my question is:
Does she needs to submit Pakistani passport with new surname or current passport with deed poll will be enough? The deed poll was issued in Oct 2013.
