Hi all,
I am applying for naturalisation end of this month. Could I register my child who was born in India last year (been in UK only since Jan 2014) for British citizenship along with my application or do we have to wait for 270 days

?
Please could someone advise on this topic.
Thank you,
Kayen

Great thank you for your reply.
The question was specific about
If the child was born outside the UK, then once one parent applies for naturalisation, the child can apply for Registration under section 3(1). The is application at discretion and the HO would expect that the other parent to hold (or to be close to holding) a ILR/PR status.
So can I apply for MN1 registration at the same time as my naturalisation application, or do I have to do mine first and then register my child?
Best regards.

Brilliant, for the benefit of other readers, I am posting it here:
Citizenship and immigration status of the parents
9.17.9 We should normally expect that:
at least one parent is a British citizen or
one of the parents has applied to be registered or naturalised as a
British citizen and the application is going to be granted (if the
parent’s application is to be refused, we should normally refuse the
minor’s application as well);
and
the other parent is either settled in the United Kingdom (see Annex
F to Chapter 6);
Which I think satisfies the latter (point 2 - one of the parents has applied to be registered or naturalised as a
British citizen and the application is going to be granted) 'and' my wife has got ILR.
Thank you very much for helping me make a decision

(I am going to apply for my child along with me)
