British Citizenship: English Language Requirement

Hello Guys

I am sorry if this is asked before but I have tried looking for the answer on the forum but couldn’t find it.

Basically, my wife will be applying for British citizenship in September 2014. She entered in the UK on dependent visa in 2009 and last year in August she was given ILR. She has Life in the UK test certificate but I believe (correct me if I am wrong) she will need to sit in one of the English exams so as to fulfil English language requirement that was brought in place from October 2013.

She hasn’t got a bachelor’s degree so there is no option to get a comparability done through NARIC.

There are a few B1 level Cambridge English exams accepted by UKBA so my question is which exam is better in comparison to the other available exams. I am kind of confused as to which course (Cambridge English | ESOL | IELTS) to choose from the list of available option – exam that is little bit relaxed in comparison to other.

I will appreciate your help if you can take time to advice from your personal experience.

Thank you

Thanks Amber. I have seen this list before posting.

I am confused as this list hold a handful number of English language courses. I am looking to find out from forum members (who have given this type of exam in the past) to advise which course has online training material available to study and cost of the exam is low.

Guys please advise.
Thanks

Check out this website

They have very cheap English courses approved UKBA and look for B1 English test listening and speaking which is very easy and basic one so good luck
