I'm Slovak national and have lived in the UK for 7 years. I have a full time job and have been paying all taxes I am obliged to pay.

Now I am thinking of applying for British citizenship and read Guide AN. I realised that I had to have WRS however my job never mentioned except National Insurance Number. I did my homework looking for information about prerequisite. Considering my situations, should I not apply for British citizenship until 2016?

My partner is from Non-EEA country and has obtained ILR 2 years ago to be qualified to apply for British citizenship. Given the fancy that, I was legally here for the last 7 years together with him. Could I apply together with him?

Advises would be highly appreciated!

You can't unfortunately. By not having registered you were not exercising Treaty rights therefore you won't meet residency requirement.

You going to have to wait till the 2nd of April 2016 to apply for PR (WRS was abolished on 01.04.2011) then 1 more year before you're allowed to apply for BC.

not pretty sure, but she might be able to apply if her partner becomes BC providing they are married!
May be the 3 years rule can be applied here? whether it is feasible or not, i am not 100% sure.

As a wife of a British citizen you surely will need olny 5 years of residence after 2011, not 6. Not sure about 3 years.

Thanks all for the comments. I have to come to conclusion that application has to wait till 2016 at the earliest. Maybe by then I might not need after all. All the comments and information are very helpful and I really appreciate.
