May be many of you know that Guide AN has been updated.. I was off for couple of months from UKBA topics.. ..
This will help others anyhow and correct me where ever I am wrong..

The last time when I checked Guide AN following .. Print out from Points based calculator was enough instead of NARIC or B1 CEFR




Now Point based printout is no longer valid. Is this correct ?...NARIC or B1CEFR is mandatory if you are not from a majority English speaking country.. ..

Now see Section 8..

a. have a speaking and listening qualification in English at B1 CEFR or higher, or
an equivalent level qualification;

OR

b. have obtained an academic qualification deemed by UK NARIC to meet the
recognised standard of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or PhD in the United
Kingdom and (i) UK NARIC has confirmed that the qualification was taught or
researched in English or (ii) the qualification was taught or researched in the
UK or a majority English speaking country other than Canada;

OR

c.are a national of a majority English speaking country.

i went to university in the UK, do i still need to get confirmation from the university or NARIC???

Thanks, but on the guide it says I need degree certificate AND one of the following .... Do I need point based calculator print out? I used the print out for ILR last year , can I use the same one?

Experts, could you kindly advise on this query?

Are these documents sufficient to prove English language requirement?
a) Degree certificate
b) Letter from University
c) Points based calculater print out (with above Degree with a score of 10)
OR
Is it mandetory to submit UK NARIC SoC and ELA letters in addition to above documents?

I don't understand the source of your confusion... It quite clearly says that you need a degree certificate, and ONE of the following (and in this set, a PBS print out is mentioned)... So, what's the problem??

No wonder you are confused as am I.. This is a old thread.. above poster has bumped it..

If you see the second part of my post wrt Section 8 (which I copied from Guide AN of gov.uk or wherever from Official UKBA site... The source is no more available..) .. it no where mentioned about the printout.. as I came back to these boards after few months I thought they have updated it and made NARIC mandatory..... With in few days.. they have updated that back to normal where printout would suffice..

If you see the link ...that has expired too now from where I copied.... Finally now when I check Guide AN it says printout out would suffice.. Issue solved..

Amber .. u better delete this thread.. this can cause confusion..which can lead to more questions than answers..

A print out from the PBS calculator is fine.
