Self sufficiency for British Citizenship application

Could I possibly request clarification on the following please?

I am an EU citizen with a PR (permanent residency) card hoping to apply for British Citizenship in December. I am currently employed but would like to quit my job to work on business idea therefore I would like to exercise my Treaty rights on the grounds of ‘self-sufficiency’. Will I be able to do so with

- £17,000 saved up in a UK savings account (will not withdraw cash until application is submitted)
- a valid EHIC (expiring in 2018) from a non-UK EU country and proof that I have been paying national insurance in that country up until the application is submitted

Looking forward to read any comments/suggestions.

Please double check this as I am not sure but I believe "self-sufficiency" and not relying on public funds should be enough for you to be exercising treaty rights.
I also think that now that you have PR it allows you to apply for naturalisation based on 5 years residence + PR.
