I would be grateful if you can help me with my query.

I am in the process of applying my British Citizenship through naturalisation. My husband is an Indian citizen and has been in the country for around 9 years. He has never been my dependent. Currently he is on Tier 2 visa. I wanted to know if he can straight away apply for naturalisation (once I am a British Citizen) using the spouse of BC route rather than applying for ILR and then naturalisation.

ILR is a pre-requisite for naturalisation, even for spouses of British citizens.

The difference is that after you are naturalised, he can apply for citizenship straightaway after ILR, rather than wait for another year.
