Not sure ,saw this discussed in our forum, so thought will add it for everyones benefit.
Just received following email:

Thank you very much for choosing Kent County Council to do your Nationality Checking.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to use a new service that allows you to submit your passport application at the same time. At present you will have to attend a citizenship ceremony and then make a separate application for your passport but we can offer a service where this can all be completed at the same time.

If you would like to know more then please ring the number below and we will talk you through the requirements.

Spoke to them , and following are the points to note.
- Now can apply for Passport together with BC application
- £10 charge for this service for NCS
- All the originals will be given back including Passport
- 2 Photographs , 1 signed with the SAME referee who signed for Citizenship
- They reckon it will reduce time , and application can be processed in 3-4 weeks time
- And if you fail citizenship application , You will loose Passport application fees as well
So good news ?

A "beta" service(?) offered by a council, given the solicitation is being done through emails to NCS subscribers rather than promoting it openly on their website!!
No information about such a service on the GOV.UK portal, as yet!

Seems to be sushdmehta, I checked their website :

And also GOV.UK site , not where it mentions about this. It is a New service though hope all the councils will follow soon.
May be One good thing is we can keep our Passport , and negative is loosing Passport fees as well when citizenship lost.
Under Kent council ,they have 9 NCS in different locations. So lot of people get benefitted by this.

Perhaps, checking with HMPO beforehand may be wise!
One wouldn't want the application to be refused for not sending "uncancelled" passport in original.

I beleive HO thinks NCS are more skilled than Post office and they can check Passport Orignials properly , So might accept Photocopies.
Note - NCS does this service only combined.
And I asked about why SAME REFEREE of BC appl. to sign passport appl. requirement to them , they just said that is the guidance they received. And they are going to send me the passport application and specific guidance posted. will update the forum, if required.

Let's hope then that this service is approved for all councils by HMPO soon.
People who fulfill the naturalisation requirements and confident of approval may benefit - given that they will get to keep their passports just as they currently do when applying for naturalisation through NCS.
