Citizenship for wife

Hello,
my wife is an Aussie born in the 90s and her father was born in Britain, he moved to Aus in the 60s with his parents and took on Aussie citizenship after she was born. He was married when my wife was born and my wife lives in Aus.
Would she be able to apply for a British passport or citizenship by descent? I'm British, would that affect any application she would make?
Thank you.

If your wife's father was still British when she was born and married to her mother, then your wife is automatically British. Then she may apply for a British passport.

Thank you for the prompt reply, do we just apply for a passport and that's it?

Oh, I meant to ask, will I still have to earn a certain amount/have savings to bring my wife to the UK to live with me if she gets a UK passport?

No. All British citizens have a right of abode in the UK.
