6.11 Do you want the Home Office to retain your BRP
Yes, I confirm that I do not require evidence of my immigration status. Should I
subsequently require evidence of my status, I will need to apply for a replacement
BRP at my expense.
No, I confirm that if granted British citizenship I must return the BRP to the Home
Office within 5 days of receiving the grant of citizenship and if I fail to do so I may
receive a financial penalty of up to £1,000.

Hi Guru,
What option do i need to opt for? can you please help,
what is the 1st(yes) option means, bit confused with this option

Kahaaf

If you select 'Yes', the Home Office will retain your BRP, until they have made a decision on your application. And if the application is approved they will dispose of it, if it isn't then they would return it to you.

If you select 'No', then you are free to keep the BRP with you (for travel purposes) until they have decided your application. If your application is approved, then you must return the BRP to them after you have attended your citizenship ceremony.

Personally, I would select 'No', as it gives you the flexibility to travel, while the HO are making a decision on your application.
