MN1 - 3 year old biometric

Hi,
I have received letter to get biometric details registered for my 3 year old son in a post office.
On the MN1 application/guidance it was mentioned that digial photograph is mandatory and they may not require fingerprints for anyone who is less than 6 years old.
But the mail asking to get his biometric details registered mentions fingerprints as well - not sure how we will manage to get it done for a 3 year old.

Will the people in the post office know what the procedure and can someone let me know the process that they may have followed for a child of a similar age?

Regards

Yes, they will know the procedure and it is only digital photo only for children under 6. The letter HO sends out is a standard template.
