Proof of residence for Self-employed EEA

Hi Everyone,

Thanks everybody for the great help in this forum

I have few questions regarding naturalisation

Background: EEA national and spouse. PR and DCPR in May 2015 but free of immigration time restrictions from January 2015 (confirmed by HO).

What date do I write in 2.4? Date of issue of PR or Date of acquired PR

Regarding proof of residence:
1. Do I just submit passport(s) as proof?
2. What is the alternative proof for self-employed EEA national as the old passport was taken on renewal (The new passport covers only 18 months)? EEA national is self-employed since 2011. Shall I get an accountant letter? or Shall I just sent all self-assessments and NI contributions?

Many Thanks

Your passport isn't proof of residence as EEA passports don't get endorsed with stamps.
You can use proof of self-employment, bank statements, tenancy agreements, utility bills or GP letters etc. as proof of residence.

Thanks for your reply
I am slightly confused with your advice. I agree with you, EEA passports don’t get stamped. But surely HO has a record of all the trips.

My understanding of proof of residence for everybody is
• Your Passport
OR
• Explanation on page 24 of application and more evidences

In addition, for EEA national / family members need DCPR or PR

The HO don't usually keep a record of the trips you make - a few people have reported that the HO held some travel data, but for others they held no data at all. That's why an EEA passport isn't usually considered proof of residence and you should supply alternative evidence of residence with your application.

Only a small number of EEA countries actually keep records of the movement of EEA passport holders. The UK is not one of them, and in fact does not even routinely conduct exit checks at the border.

I requested all of the information UKVI hold on me and they have NO record of my travel whatsoever!

When I next travel in the EU, I'm going to ask for Schengen entry/exit stamps in my passport.
