Hi,

My husband and I received letters from home office last Friday advising that our British citizenship applications have been approved and to book ceremony at the local council. I am calling council tomorrow to book the ceremony.

We both have Indian passports. What is the whole process for change over to British passports including OCI for travelling to India?

I am inviting (sponsoring) my mom and dad from India on a tourist visa as I am pregnant and expected due date in September 2016. I am planning to send our documents by next weekend.. Since, We received our British citizenship approvals, What documents do we need to show in respect to the status in the UK for their tourist visa? Indian passports, indefinate leave to remain card, or BC certificate.

Thanks

Sheetal

The council is not open on a Bank Holiday. Monday 30th is a bank holiday.

You are not British until you attend your ceremony so if your parents are applying for a visit visa, you send what your status is at the time when they apply. If you are British and have your certificate when they apply, then that is what you send. If you have not attended your ceremony by the time they apply, then you only have ILR and you send that. Unlikely you will get a slot for ceremony before you 'send' documents to your parents.

Please post any Indian/OCI queries in the 'Other Countries' sub forum, link below.
