BRP card after failure on naturalisation

Hello all,

I need your help and some advice.

Early this year i applied for Naturalisation which was declined in June on grounds that i didn't meet the good character requirement. I applied because in April 2014 when they declined my application for naturalisation again they attached a letter explaining when i should apply which was January this year 2016. So when this year started I did apply only to be told that the years have changed to 10yrs from seven. (previous convicted 07/2008 imprisoned for 4weeks for driving offence). To my ignorance I didn't know that they had changed the requirements in December 2014. can i hold them to this letter they sent me?

Also before my decision i was asked to go to the post office and get my finger prints taken.
My question is do i automatically get BRP card and £80 pounds returned? or do i have to write to the UKBA asking for this card and £80 return?

HELP AS IM REALLY FRUSTRATED BY UKBA

Sorry to hear about your refusal.

In my opinion I don't think you have any chances of success. At the time when the Home Office informed you they were correct in terms of the requirements. However rules do change its down to the applicant to ensure they are up to date with the requirements before applying. As you have stated it was ignorance on your part and this won't be taken as an excuse

With regards to biometrics enrolment this has to be done in all cases and no application begins to be considered until biometrics are done. You won't be getting a BRP card (there isn't one for Naturalisation).

There is no UKBA anymore, it was abolished in 2013.

The reference to BRP is probably related to OP's BRP for ILR status.

Hi all...
Thank you for the reply. My question is do i need this BRP card as form of identity because when my ILR was issued in june 2006 it was not in play?

If you have ILR in your passport, it is fine, provided you don't plan to change employment. If you change employment, you will need to apply for an ILR BRP card.
