Degrees from USA

I am an Indian citizen preparing my application for citizenship. I have a PhD from USA. I called NARIC to see if they give English language equivalency for degrees from USA. They told me that for countries like USA and Australia they do not issue an English language equivalency certificate. Can I just submit my degree copy with my application and will that be acceptable as all degrees in USA are taught and researched in English.

Hi there,

Did you ever get a reply on your question.

Could you please share your experience if you managed to get through the NCS(Nationality Checking Service) with your US degree. I am in a similar situation as yours and would be grateful if you share your experience (and let me save an unnecessary waste of £150 on NARIC letter :? )

Hi,

I am sure the seniour members will be more informative but my understanding is that if your degree disploma states that the degree was taught in in a majority English-speaking country you don't need a UK NARIC certificate. Have a look at this https://www.gov.uk/english-language/degrees-in-english
If your degree isn’t from a UK university, you’ll need your original degree certificate and one of the following:
  • an original letter or certificate from UK NARIC confirming the equivalent level of your degree, plus an official letter from your university with your name and degree confirming that your degree was taught in English

an original and official certificate from your university confirming the degree was taught or researched in a majority English-speaking country (except Canada)
