My GP is charging an £80 child to sign the British Citizen Registration application. Applications for my 2 children will set me back by £160
Must I have to use a professional who has worked with the children?
I have professional friends who can sign for me.

I think as long as they know the children it ought to be all right. "Know" here doesn't mean being friends with them or knowing them as a result of professional contact, simply being acquainted with them.

You might want to change your GP

. anyway as Christophe says find someone who 'knows'.
Also to note when i applied for registration for my child (born in UK) i didnt include referee.

Thanks F2K, I'll just look for 2 ordinary referees to sign off on it

It is also probably illegal for them to charge for this.

ask a teacher from one of the child's school to sign the applications.

Why? Supply and demand.
Wonder if the tax man knows about the income tho....
