british passport dilemma?????

hey guys
just a a quick question.i am a british citizen...my husband came into the country on 26th january 09 on a spouse visa and he got his ILR on January 2011....i was just wondering when can he apply for a british passport?? i have had a look it is 3 years in th uk?? isnt....can someone please confirm or tel me what i need to do.....

First your husband must become British citizen before applying for a passport.
To be eligible for British citizenship, he must meet the requirements listed in the link Lucapooka posted. He must then apply using
form AN, pay a fee and if application is granted, attend a citizenship ceremony. Then he becomes a British Citizen and he can (if he wishes ) to apply for a passport.

Yes he does living in UK for 3 years with me a bc we have a child he has no convictions he has a clean record regarding documents what will he need he has a passport he has bin working for 2 years at same place what docs does he need to provide a rough idea would help please can we apply straight away or do we have to wait thanks again

Click on the link of form AN in my previous post. The last page of the application form has a list of documents required.

The earliest he may apply for naturalisation is 26-Jan-12.
After being naturalised, he may apply for a
British passport - as already suggested by Jambo.
