Hello People,

We got our ILR application approved on 22 November at croydon. Below are details of my application:

1) Came to Uk in Nov 2007 on workpermit
2) Got Tier 1 in March 2009
3) Got extension in Jan 2012.
4) Was in permanent jobs till March 2012
5) Started working through my own limited company since Apr 2012.

Document which I submitted.

1) Passports+ Biometric cards
2) Photographs
3) Birth Certificate ( My daughter)
4) Marriage Certificate ( for my wife)
5) Life in UK Tests
6) Payslips
7) Dividend vouchers
8) Letter from accountant
9) Financial statements
10) Company Docs
11) Halifax bank statements
12) Cohabitation Docs
13) Letter from HMRC showing tax paid for last 4 years
14) Letter from employer for the first year

I didnt submit no 13 and 14 initially but caseworker asked me to provide documents to prove I was working when on work permit. So I gave her the documents mentioned in points 13 and 14.

Overall the process was not tedious but was time consuming. It takes up whole day, so be prepared to wait once there.

Do let me know for any questions and would be happy to help.

Thanks again for all the help

I provided letter for the first year as I received salary in India and Allowances in UK . Even the allowances used to loaded into a ICICI cash card. so just to prove I was working in UK from 2007-08 I got that letter. From next year onwards I was paid salary here, so had all the tax records

Could you please let me know what sort of letter did you provide, even I had to work in similar fashion for few months in my 1st year and also I have unpaid absences, do they look into it?

The OP applied before the new rules came into effect, therefore would not have had the new SET(O) form or required the employer letter you are asking about here. See below:

Congrats Manisharnie.
I am in exact situation as you. I was on WP . now on Tier 1 G. I left the WP job about 4 years ago when I got the Tier 1 visa.
I am worried that the caseworker asked you about any proof that you were working during WP. Currently I don't have any letter from WP employer and its not possible to get one. My ILR appt is due in a week's time. If you hadn't submitted that letter do you think yr application wud have been refused?
I have HMRC letter to prove that I was working there. I only left the WP job after I got the Tier 1 G visa. I got Tier 1 General in Sept 2008. left WP job in January 2009. Started a new job in April 2009. I am bit worried now. Seniors pls advise.

t0mmy- if you have the letter from HMRC, it is sufficient as it proves you were working here.
