Applying for ILR from Tier 1 General visa - less than 5 year

Hi

HSMP Visa stamped on = 21st May 2008
First Entry in UK = 6th July 2008
Extension under Tier 1 (General) = 26th May 2010
Tier 1 General visa expires = 26th May 2013

When can I apply for ILR?

I shall be short of 40 days from 5 years on 26th May 2013. What is the earliest time I can apply for ILR?

My first leave expired on 21st May 2010 and the extension visa was issued with date from 26th May 2010. Will there be any issue as I was here without visa for these 4 days (delay was due to Home office visa processing officer).

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Was your extension a postal application or in-person? On what date did you post/submit the actual application?

I posted my application, visa application officer told me my passport was missing though it was sent together with the documents. So, I had to apply a new passport and sent the new passport by post again.

So long as you meet all other requirements for ILR, you will be eligible to apply for ILR from upto 28 days before the 5th anniversary from your EC date, as you first entered the UK within 3 months of EC. I.e. http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd ... &ad=28&aw=

You would have been covered by S3C during the 4 days you mention & this will not have any impact on your ILR application.

Hi,

I have exactly the same question..IF you can please advise..

I am on Tier1 General VISA and by the time I will apply for ILR it will be 4 year 10 months.

I entered UK 2 months later(34 days later to be precise) after I got my visa.

Shall go ahead with ILR or I should be applying for one more extension.

Please advise or if any number / email to embassy if you can provide I can contact to confirm ??

Cheers,

If your question is exactly the same, it would be logical to conclude that the answer would be the same as that has already been provided as well.

You should only post a question on this forum if you are unable to find an answer by reading the information that is already available.

ILR- Shortage of 36 Days

Hi

Can any one advice me on this one ...as it is not clear on UKBA website

My First VISA (HSMP Tier 1)--------04/09/2008

Arrived in the UK..........................10/10/2008

Extension (Tier 1 General) date (early)...................29/07/2010

Expiry of extension ..............................................29/07/2013

So as you can see there is a gap between 1st Clearance date and expiry of extension (36 days )

So Can I apply for ILR before 29/07/2013 or do I need extension for just 36 days of shortage I read the 5 year continues period assessment period but it doesn't say any thing about early extension.

Thank you very much In advance for your Advice.

Hi,
Can anyone guide me please regarding the qualifying period of my ILR applicaton.
My scenario: got initial visa(tier1G): 18/11/2008
Got extension: 06/12/2011
Expiry date: 06/12/2013
But my 5 years will complete on 18-11-2013
My query is, can I apply for ILR in Oc 2013(28 days before 5years completion) or shall I wait for my visa expiry date and apply 28 days before expiry.
Your response will be highly appreciated.

Regards
J

hello. i'm sorry if this forum isn't 100% appropriate. I have been searching eveywhere. I am applying to switch from Tier 1 General to ILR and want to book a premium appointment. My husband will need to apply to extend his Tier 1 General spouse visa for 3 years (since we got married a couple days after the new law came into effect). I can't find any guidance on booking the premium appointment. Do I need to book 2 separate appointments at the same time? Or one appointment?

Thank you!
