Hi guys,

I have completed 10yrs of lawful residency in August 2013 (still have couple of months on my student Visa). Application process looks straight forward except for one thing.

When I had to extend my visa in 2004 for the 1st time I decided to go for an agent rather than doing it by my self since I was new to this country and had no idea about the process I hired an agent who said he had applied visa on my behalf but in fact he didnt. I was under impression that my file was with home office for a month atleast. In the end I found out that he was a fraud and after long chase he posted me my passport to my address. I hired a lawyer and applied for student visa which arrived without any sort of trouble. apart from this I have been extending my visa on time everytime till now. There has been no gaps what so ever.
Now the trouble is the gap was for more than 28days and after 9yrs I have nothing to prove.

I am confused and worried that my application will be rejected on this ground. Please advice.

Can you get a letter from the solicitor who subsequently dealt with your case to say that the agent had your file?

I can try. They might not have my file anymore since its been 9yrs. but thats certainly something worth trying for.
