Type of visa for my wife

Hi Guys,
I am going to apply for my ILR this october, just need to know answers to my queries, if you gurus can help me out with it then that would be great.
1. My wife joined me last year in september as she has not completed 5 yrs (as she arrived here after july 2012) she is not eligible for ILR, what kind of visa she should apply along with my application? ILR dependent??
2. does she needs to pass Life in the uk test even though she is not eligible for ILR?
