Death in family - ILR expedited through MP

Hi Guys,
I want to share my experience of getting my ILR (10 Years Long residence) – though I don’t want to see any of you guys to go through such a trauma I have been......!
Application posted: 31/08/2013
Biometrics done: 17/09/2013
My father passed away: 26/10/2013 (Saturday)
I was kind of lost and helpless without my passport but one cannot change the fate so I had to accept the ruthless truth of life....... Any ways;
Email to MP for expatiation request: 27/10/2013 Sunday
I didn’t go for withdrawal as UKBA were going to take around 20 days for that request so no point for me requesting withdrawal.
Reply from MP office: 28/10/2013 Monday
Asking for death certificate
Certificate emailed to MP office: 06/11/2013
Reply from MP office confirming ILR granted: 12/11/2013
ILR approval letter and documents received: 13/11/2013
Documents sent: 3xpassports, Life in UK test certificate, Biometrics card (T1 General)
Biometrics card: awaiting

Sorry to hear about your loss but glad the MP acted accordingly. I'm sure your Father would have been very proud of you.

Just to update the forum I received my Biometrics card today 14/11/2013.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you get to be with your loved ones. As much as the immigration system is lacking, we have to appreciate how they deal with exceptional circumstances.
