4 months gap in two Tier 1 (Gen). When to apply for IRL

Hi All
My first Tier 1 General Highly Skilled started from expired 15 Oct 2009 & expired on 15 Oct 2012. I received my extension (2 years) on 15 Feb 2013. My passport was with Home office & they took 4 months to process my application. So there is a gap of 4 months between my two Tier 1 visas. I complete my 5 years on 15 Oct 2014. can you please advice when I can apply for IRL. Do I need to wait till 15 Feb 2014 or can I apply after 15 Oct 2014 as I complete my 5 years on 15 Oct 2014.
